When you’re thanked for your hard work it generates a definite feel good factor. And our people know all about that. They regularly get compliment letters from satisfied customers who are genuinely chuffed with the service they’ve received. So, as well as working with a great bunch of people who’ll value your dedication, you’ll get to serve some too. Take a look at a few of the glowing comments our customers have made about our teams.

An associate from Grimsby served a customer at 11am and took a Copy and Print order for an energy company. The company explained that they needed the work to be complete the same day, and that it had to be in Scotland the day after as part of a bid for a contract. The order came to over £2,000 and, due to the associate’s expertise, included a number of upgrades that helped improve it significantly.

Unfortunately, the company were running late in getting the work into the store during the day and didn’t arrive until 6.00pm. This would have been a major problem with any other business, however with Staples Grimsby, that wasn’t the case.

Two associates agreed to stay back after the store closed until the work was complete so the deadline wouldn’t be missed. They stayed until 4am, with a courier arriving at their store as soon as they’d finished to collect the completed work and transport it to Scotland.

This is another example of the incredible teamwork, commitment and customer service that no other business would have provided, and again an example of the passion that you’ll discover in our world.

“I have been a regular customer of your store for over four years now, and I feel it important to inform you that yours is the best store I have ever visited. In fact, this is the best store in the whole of Warrington or even a greater area in terms of customer service. I do not know of another shop or store that I have visited that comes anywhere near it on the customer services scale.

The staff are absolutely wonderful, so helpful, so pleasant, very knowledgeable on products and nothing is too much trouble for them. I have never, in four years, heard any member of staff moan or whinge about the weather, working conditions, ailments, poor rate of pay or other staff.

It is an absolute pleasure to visit the store. Even when I have not bought the correct product or bought a product that has been faulty, the staff have dealt with it without too many questions. I have spent thousands of pounds in your store.

Anyway, I was in the store the other day and to be honest I was really enjoying the company and banter with the staff so much so I decided to write and tell you (or hopefully remind you, because I’m sure that you have been told before) just how nice and lovely ALL the staff are.

I consider myself to be quite a good judge of customer service, as I teach Customer Service in the Catering and Hospitality Industry and believe me, I can recognise the right pegs in the right holes when I see them. Most companies preach ‘Customer Service’ – however, some of them haven’t got a clue what they are talking about!

Well done Staples!!! Definitely 15 / 10.”

“I have just visited your Staples store in Beckton today and I have to say what a wonderful atmosphere the store has, and what great customer service is provided.

I normally shop with one of your competitors, but today I thought I’d pop in and have a look around your store. Straight away, I was greeted by a very welcoming hello from your Team Leader, and was then asked if there was anything I needed help with. I said I was just looking and then I was given a friendly offer of help if and when I needed it.

I was astounded with the range of products in the store and the competitive prices on offer. I was looking for a new printer and was very impressed when a trainee approached me to see if I needed help. He was able to talk me through the various features and costs of the ink that I would need. To get this level of service from a trainee was very surprising, and it’s good to know that you train your new staff well.”

“I have never been into a Staples store before until I was passing your Broadstairs branch and I remembered I needed some paper for my work. I was amazed that I was approached literally after 20 seconds of walking in with a friendly ‘what can I help you find today?’ and not the usual ‘hi, can I help?’

Please pass on my thanks to all the staff at the Broadstairs branch, and tell them I’ll be back again with my rewards card. As your advert says – ‘THAT WAS EASY!’.

“I wanted to speak to someone in the Head Office to tell them about the experience I had in your Salford store today. I received absolutely phenomenal service from an associate. The guy really knew his stuff. He explained to me simply and clearly the difference between Samsung and HP printers, by taking a sheet from the HP printer and putting it next to the Samsung one, then talking me through all the individual differences.

His product knowledge was so amazing, he really should be training other people. You just don’t get this level of service with your competitors. They may shout about their service, but it’s not anywhere near as good as what I get in your store. I have worked in retail at store level, and I know how difficult it is to get the right people and train them, so well done. This store is in one of the worst areas of the country, yet the service is fantastic. I went up to the manager and told him what a great job his associate was doing, and that I was leaving the store with a printer, ink worth more than the printer, plus more paper than I can believe, and I told him I do not tend to buy warranties, but today I have bought a warranty too!”

At the time, we were looking for some chairs for our business and found the right product at the right price. Almost as importantly, we found the right staff and service. I’d previously had problems elsewhere with bad service, however as soon as I entered the shop an associate welcomed me and was eager to help me. It was a delight to be in her presence. I also signed up for a Rewards card with you, due to great service. I came in this week and your associate was again very helpful. Thanks to her, I am now going to be buying from you often. To sum up, I would like to congratulate you on having such wonderful staff.”
