Distribution Centres

At the very heart of our operations lies the Staples Retail Distribution Centre in Daventry – something we consider a bit of a mothership. Occupying a massive 250,000 sq ft and home to some 200 workers, this stand-alone Distribution Centre operates six days a week (sometimes seven during peak trading periods), making sure all our stores are constantly rammed to the rafters with great products.

There are plenty of impressive facts and figures to tell you about. With DHL supporting the transport side of things, we’ve 42 dedicated trailers and 29 tractor units helping us get products small and large out on over 300 deliveries a week. These vary from one to four per store, depending on volume and size. The whole operation is an adaptation of the US Staples Retail distribution model. This is a huge advantage in terms of help and support, as we’re on the same system platforms and use the same backup teams as our American counterparts – meaning expertise is always on tap, especially with regards to training and upgrades.
