Staples Inspirational Selling Skills (SISS)
This unique training programme teaches our store teams all they need to know about promoting our products and services. It’s not about hard selling. It’s about giving those teams the confidence to talk to customers from all walks of life about what it is they’re looking for, then suggest a product that best meets their needs.
Personal Leadership training
Managing yourself is one thing. Leading a team is another. For those who wish to take the next step up and help others realise their potential we offer tailored leadership training.
Staples Academy Learning
This fantastic resource is available to everyone in the business, whatever their level. It offers bite size chunks of learning to help people build up their expertise. The learning can be in person (in workshops, for example) or online. Each store associate has their own learning profile, so that we can keep track of their development and suggest the most appropriate training programmes for their needs.
Comprehensive Induction programme
We offer in-depth inductions to all our people, to help them get a feel for what Staples is all about. We place special emphasis on new store managers (as they’re the public face of our management team) and provide them with a five-week induction. One week of which is spent in the classroom, with four weeks’ training in store.
Sponsorship programme for professional qualifications
Does what it says on the tin. If people want to gain professional qualifications relevant to their role, we’ll provide all the support (both financially and time-wise) they need to achieve them.
